NORKA, the Kerala government's overseas employment agency, has launched a new scheme designed to help Keralites return home and find employment. This video will explain the program's benefits and how to apply for this new scheme.

- NORKA, the Kerala government's overseas employment agency, has launched
a new scheme designed to help Keralites return home and find employment.
- This video will explain the program's benefits and how to apply for this
new scheme. If employers provide jobs to expatriates who returned from
abroad, they will receive half the employees wages from NORKA Routes. This
will be 50 percent of daily wage or a maximum of Rs 400, whichever is
lesser. Each employer will be eligible for benefit of a maximum 50 workers
in a year. The employer will receive a payment for each worker in a maximum
of 100 days annually, ie 25 days per three-month period. Thus an employer
will receive a maximum of Rs 40,000 per worker annually.
- Both the workers and employers must register with NORKA will be eligible
for this scheme.
- This initiative is being implemented under the 'NORKA Assisted and
Mobilised Employment Scheme' (NAME).
Eligibility to join the Scheme
- SThe employee must have worked abroad for at least two years, be
currently without a work visa or have returned within the last six months.
- The minimum age is 25 years, and the maximum is 70 years.
- The annual income of the family should be Rs 3 lakhs or less.
- Employment, industrial, service and cooperative sector organisations, as
well as private, cooperative, industrial, trade, service establishments and
startup ventures, which have at least 90 percent of their members as
returning expatriates, can register as employers with the Central or state
government’s registration.
- Employers must pay wages directly into the worker’s personal bank
account.
- NORKA will transfer funds into the funds into the institution's bank
account.
- The employer must provide year-round employment to the worker
