Age limit: 25-46 (Candidates belonging to SC/ST communities and Other Backward Communities are eligible for relaxation of upper age limit as per rules)

Qualification:

1. A Degree in Naval Architecture from a recognised university
And
Experience for not less than three years in the basic design, construction and maintenance of floating crafts in shipyards recognised by the Mercantile Marine Department.
2. In the absence of candidates with the above qualification, Higher National certificate in Naval Architecture.
And
Experience for not less than seven years in the basic design, construction and maintenance of floating crafts in shipyards recognised by the Mercantile Marine Department.
3. In the absence of candidates with the above qualification a degree in mechanical Engineering of a recognised University.
And
Five years experience in basic design, construction and maintenance of floating crafts in shipyards recognised by the Mercantile Marine Department. Candidates with experience in ship repairing will be preferred.
- The experience should be one acquired after the acquisition of the basic academic qualifications for the post.
- Qualification of experience prescribed shall not apply in the case of SC/ST candidates for direct recruitment. The candidate so recruited shall acquire the experience qualification after recruitment.
