Typist is a clerical job who types documents using a typewriter. Now a days typewriter is replaced by computer in almost all places. LD Typist (Lower Division Typist) job require the qualification of SSLC or Plus 2 along with typing or computer experience. Qualification:

Pass in SSLC Examination or any other equivalent qualification (Higher level posts require Plus 2 or Degree)
Lower Grade Certificate in Malayalam Typewriting (KGTE) or its equivalent.
Lower Grade Certificate in English Typewriting (KGTE) and Computer Word Processing or its equivalent. Those who have passed KGTE Typewriting English (Lower) before January 2002 should produce separate certificate in Computer Word Processing or its equivalent.

Module 1 : Comprehension Passage

A comprehension Passage
A comprehension passage is useful (to test the accuracy and clarity) of the student.
- Synonyms and Antonyms can be asked from the passage.
- It can test the Past tense / Past participle of the Verb of given word from the
passage.
- Different aspects of grammatical usages can be tested
- To give one word answers

Module 2 : Editing

This module aims at sentence correction and the correction of a given passage.
- Editing
-Capitalization
- Punctuation eg. (exclamation marks, column)
- Sentence Correction
- Subject verb agreement (eg. Police are looking for the thief)

Module 3 : English usage in day to day affairs.
